David Yost
David Griffin Yost, 49, of 330 Macon Drive, Statesville, NC
died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1956, in Mecklenburg County, and was the son of Mrs. Anne Griffin Yost of Statesville, and the late Ben Ross Yost.
David was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School and attended Mitchell College. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was the owner of Solid Wood Systems.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife, Carla Pardue Yost; a son, Alan Wayne Yost; a daughter, Jessica Anne Yost; and two step-daughters, Catherine Reynolds Cheatham and Megan Rene Jolly, all of Statesville. One brother, Steven Ross Yost and wife Kathy of Rockwell; two nephews, Eric and Josh Yost, also of Rockwell; and a number of uncles and aunts also survive.
A memorial funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gervase Hitch officiating. Burial will follow on a later date. The family will receive friends at the church following the services.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The 2004 GSDCA-WDA North American Sieger Show in Madison, Wisconsin ended today. The Carolina German Shepherd Working Dog Club sponsored and provided two large cup trophies for the Best American Bred German Shepherd Dog in this conformation show.
The two trophies were presented in the Working Dog Class (24 months and older with titles) to VA5 Olex von Wilhendorf (males) and VA2 Bella vom Mittelwest II (females). Olex’s owner is Karen Henkel. Bella’s owner is Julie Martinez. Both of these breeders were at the 2003 NASS in Statesville, NC hosted by our club. Congratulations to the two Best American Bred Dogs. |

Wayne Speaks informed the present CGSWDC members at our Schutzhund field on 9/25/04 that our club donated the amount of $1000 for the hurricane Ivan disaster relief to the Hendersonville Church of Christ. The Hendersonville area was badly hit with flooding and mud slides during hurricane Ivan. |

The Oct. 2, 2004 dog training will be held at Chet Robert’s Carolina Dog Training facility during our regular training times. After training we will have a cookout provided by Beverly Roberts and CGSWDC.
Map and directions start at I-40, exit number 148, Statesville, NC and end at 1754 Midway Road (NC-1554), Stony Point, NC 28678. Look for a bunch of German Shepherd Dogs. |
